Posted on Facebook that the whole province is circulating 200 billion VND of counterfeit money
Hai confessed to using his personal Facebook account to spread rumors that the entire province was circulating 200 billion VND in counterfeit 200,000 VND bills.
The Internal Political Security Department of Quang Binh Provincial Police has just identified a subject who posted a photo and an article stating that the province is circulating 200 billion VND worth of counterfeit 200,000 VND bills on his personal Facebook page.

The subject was identified as Nguyen Dang Hai, born in 1988, residing in Cam Thuy commune, Le Thuy district.
Accordingly, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2019, information spread on social networks that Quang Binh province and some neighboring provinces were circulating counterfeit money with a face value of 200,000 VND.
Specifically, the information posted: "Currently, in Quang Binh and neighboring provinces, there are more than 200 billion VND of counterfeit money with a face value of 200,000 VND in circulation, especially near Tet, counterfeit money is rampant in rural areas."
This information has caused confusion and anxiety among the masses, affecting the work of ensuring monetary security.
After receiving the information, the authorities of Quang Binh province immediately began to verify the incident.
According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Quang Binh Province branch, the amount of counterfeit money detected through banking transactions has not shown any sudden changes. From 2018 to now, the whole province has only detected 4 counterfeit bills with a face value of 200,000 VND.
Determining that Hai was the person who posted this information on Facebook, the agency invited him to work.
At the police station, Hai confessed that while accessing Facebook, he learned about this information, so he copied the content of the article and saved all the images to his mobile phone.
Then, Hai edited it to the phrase "Quang Binh province" and posted the image and article with the above content on his personal Facebook page.
Quang Binh Provincial Police also determined that the information that Nguyen Dang Hai posted on his personal Facebook page was fabricated and untrue.
