Mother prosecuted for using social media to order fake documents for her child to study abroad
A woman in Vung Tau City (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) went online to order fake documents to complete her child's study abroad application. However, when she brought them to be notarized, the fake documents were discovered.
On July 25, the Vung Tau City Police Department announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a ban on leaving the place of residence for Ms. Bui Thi Hai (47 years old, residing in Nguyen An Ninh ward, Vung Tau city) related to the act of making and using fake documents.
According to the initial investigation, on May 9, Ms. Hai contacted an unknown person on Facebook through the page "Service for making fake documents, certificates and citizen identification cards" to discuss hiring someone to make fake documents to complete the application for her child to study abroad in Korea.
After reaching an agreement, the above subject agreed to forge for Ms. Hai a land use rights certificate (with 1 notarized copy) and a business registration certificate (with 1 notarized copy) for the agreed price of 6 million VND.
On May 13, through the delivery staff, the above subject transferred to Ms. Hai 1 certificate of land use rights, house ownership rights and other assets attached to land issued by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province on May 23, 2018 and 1 business registration certificate issued by the Economic Department of Vung Tau City, with the first registration on May 10.
Four days later, Ms. Hai gave the two fake documents to her son and asked him to have them notarized at a notary office in Ward 3, Vung Tau City. However, during the procedure, the notary discovered that the documents were fake and reported them to the police.
Through verification, Ms. Hai confessed to using social media to order fake documents for her child to study abroad.
The case is being further investigated and handled by Vung Tau City Police.
