Plum season in Moc Chau is around the end of May and the beginning of June. At that time, the plum gardens that bloom white in winter have borne fruit, gradually ripening under the green canopy. The graceful plum branches with white flowers in winter gradually become heavy, hanging with ripe fruit that changes color from glossy green to plump purple-red.

Early in the morning, when the mountain tops are still shrouded in mist, Mong boys and girls carry baskets on their backs and go up the hills to pick plums. Their indigo sleeves peek out from under the lush green plum trees, and their red brocaded Mong skirts flutter under the plum branches, which are also bright red with ripe fruit.
