Sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation will not prevent us from bidding for weapons to India and if we win, the order will be for 110 fighters, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Vladimir Drozhzhov told reporters.

Earlier, the MiG corporation announced that the latest Russian light fighter MiG-35, which is participating in a tender with the Indian Air Force for the purchase of 110 aircraft of this type, will help New Delhi save 20% of the cost compared to buying from other foreign partners.

“Sanctions do not bring anything good. Everyone understands this clearly, so we are forced to find a way under the pressure of sanctions. We are grateful to our Indian partners for their efforts in this direction. We are well aware that we have to proceed from the fact that the pressure of sanctions will continue, even before signing direct contracts in large tenders in which we participate,” Drozhzhov said.

He recalled that the Russian Federation has now received an order for 18 Su-30MKI technological complexes. “We have already fulfilled the contract earlier,” the deputy director of the Russian FSMTC confirmed, adding that Russia has also prepared a proposal to upgrade about 450 Indian T-90 tanks, which were previously produced under license.
