Lewandowski scored a hat-trick, Bayern won the opening match of Bundesliga
Carlo Ancelotti had a perfect debut as his side thrashed Werder Bremen 6-0.
The defending champions took the lead early on, opening the scoring in the ninth minute thanks to a volley from Xabi Alonso. Just four minutes later, Robert Lewandowski doubled the lead after beating the offside trap to meet Franck Ribery's pass and finish from a tight angle.
In the second half, Bayern played leisurely but still scored four more goals. Lewandowski scored his second goal in the 46th minute, a close-range tap-in after a cross from Thomas Muller.

In the 66th minute, it was captain Philipp Lahm's turn to score. After a pass-and-go with Muller on the right wing, the 32-year-old defender confidently dribbled deep into the penalty area and then shot diagonally into the opponent's net. In this match, Werder Bremen's defense made many mistakes. Except for Alonso's excellent opening goal, the away team's defenders were unfocused in the other goals conceded.
In the 73rd minute, Ribery finished off a practice-like combination right in the opponent's penalty area with a decisive shot. In this situation, Bremen players let Lahm and Muller freely coordinate before the home team's number 25 player made a cross inside. Thomas Muller had three assists for his teammates to score in this match.
Four minutes later, Lewandowski completed his hat-trick when he successfully converted a penalty kick after Thiago was brought down in the penalty area.
Mats Hummels, a summer signing from Dortmund, played the full 90 minutes, while another new signing, young midfielder Renato Sanches, was on the bench but did not get a chance to play.
The match between Bayern and Bremen is the opening match of the 2016-2017 Bundesliga. The remaining matches of the first round will take place on the evening of August 27 and 28.
