Previously, at around 1:00 p.m., Mr. Nguyen Duc Huyen (60 years old, in Tran Hung Dao ward) drove a Lexus LX5707 into a funeral procession on Nguyen Cong Tru street, killing two people on the spot and one person dying while being taken to the hospital.

Mr. Huyen was the former chairman of the board of directors of a forestry company in Binh Dinh and currently owns a hotel in Quy Nhon. Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Du Phi Long - Chief of Quy Nhon City Police said that after the incident, he went to the police to present himself.

The businessman said he came to the funeral for about 30 minutes, then got in the car to prepare for the funeral when the accident happened. "The car was bought in Lam Dong. Mr. Huyen said he was the owner of the car, but we are still determining whether it was a business car or a personal car," said Lieutenant Colonel Long.

According to witnesses, "the car was going very fast, swerving around" and colliding with many other vehicles before hitting the funeral procession.

Mr. Le Duc Ngan (43 years old), a member of the Van Thu funeral service team, said that he and 10 other people were carrying the coffin and performing the funeral procession. Suddenly, a 7-seat Lexus parked 50 meters away from the funeral procession rushed towards the team members from behind. "The funeral team leader and I were the two people at the front of the formation (last in the direction of the car) so we were able to jump onto the sidewalk and escape," he recounted.

Before he could recover, Mr. Ngan looked out onto the street and saw many members of the ceremony lying in pain on the street, two people were motionless and dead, many people were covered in blood and screaming. At this time, dozens of people surrounded the scene. They helped the victims and called an ambulance.

After the accident, the car sped away, causing many people to run away, some people chased after the car. After running 100 meters, the car stopped, the driver knelt down to apologize to everyone and said that he "lost control".
