Lexus launches LIT IS with 42,000 LED lights covering the body

The LIT IS is a special edition of the 2017 Lexus IS, but this 42,000 LED-covered car won't be widely produced.

Car manufacturers always try to strike a balance between trendy design and distinctive style. However, Lexus doesn't seem to care about that.

They just launched a special car with 42,000 color-changing LED lights on its body. The car is called Lexus LIT IS, based on the 2017 Lexus IS. Lexus wants to "excite - more than ever", BGR quoted, and that is also their goal.

In fact, covering the outside of the LIT IS are 41,999 color-changing LED lights, creating a series of mesmerizing effects and certainly attracting a lot of attention when participating in traffic.

In the introductory video, Lexus said the lighting system is designed with many different modes, and can even synchronize with music and hand gestures. They did not explain how the lights work, but BGR said it recognizes hand gestures based on algorithms like a game console.

The LIT IS version will not be widely produced, as this type of front and rear lights are illegal to drive on the road in many countries.
