UN appoints US official as UNICEF Executive Director
Ms. Henrietta Fore, 69 years old, will succeed Mr. Anthony Lake as UNICEF Executive Director with a term starting on January 1.
On December 22, the United Nations announced the appointment of Ms. Henrietta Fore, an economic development consultant and former US State Department official, as Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Ms. Henrietta Fore, 69 years old, will succeed Mr. Anthony Lake as UNICEF Executive Director with a term starting on January 1.
UNICEF provides humanitarian and development assistance to mothers and children in more than 190 developing countries and territories, focusing primarily on saving lives and protecting children’s rights. Ms. Henrietta Fore was the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (2006-2009), the first woman to hold this position./.
