Bank holiday schedule for Hung Kings' death anniversary, April 30 and May 1
There are still about 2 weeks left until the 5-day holiday for Hung Kings Commemoration Day (10th of the 3rd lunar month), Southern Liberation Day and International Labor Day. However, at this time, agencies and organizations have announced specific holiday schedules.
According to regulations, banks will be closed from Monday (May 1) to Wednesday (May 3). This includes compensatory days off according to the Labor Law due to Hung King's Commemoration Day (April 29) and Southern Liberation Day (April 30) which fall on Saturday and Sunday.
Banks will reopen for normal trading from Thursday, May 4.
Including the two previous weekends, banks will have up to five days of counter closure, except for a few banks that are still open for business on Saturday mornings.
Although counter transactions are closed, banks' online transaction systems still operate smoothly during the holidays to meet customers' transaction needs.

Holiday schedule for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30 and May 1, 2023 according to the Labor Code is as follows:
1 day off April 29 (Saturday): Hung King's death anniversary (10th day of the 3rd lunar month).
1 day off April 30 (Sunday): Victory Day.
1 day off May 1 (Monday): International Labor Day.
1 day off 2/5 (Tuesday): Compensatory day off (for 4/30 on Sunday).
1 day off 3/5 (Wednesday): Compensatory day off (for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day on Saturday) - only for those who have a fixed day off every Saturday.
According to the 2023 holiday schedule, this is also the second longest holiday of the year for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers, after the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday in January 2023.
Regulations on Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holidays have been applied since 2007. According to the current 2019 Labor Code, the total number of holidays and Tet holidays for employees in a year as prescribed is 11 days.
Following the April 30 and May 1 holidays, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 4 consecutive days off for National Day 2023./.
