August 13, 1919:Date of birth of Academician - Painter Tran Van Can. He was born in Kien An town, originally from Tu Son, Bac Ninh province, passed away in 1994 in Hanoi. He has many typical works such as: "Em Thuy" (oil painting), "Goi dau" (wood carving), "Xuong dong" (silk painting), "Tat nuoc dong chiem" (lacquer), "Nu quan mien bien bien" (oil painting)...

August 13, 1942:Nguyen Ai Quoc, with his new name Ho Chi Minh, went to China to contact Vietnamese political forces abroad and campaign internationally for national liberation.
From August 13-15, 1945:The National Conference of the Indochinese Communist Party was held in Tan Trao. Attending the Conference were representatives of local Party Committees and a number of foreign delegates. The Conference was held at a time when the Revolution was becoming urgent, as the Conference Resolution clearly stated: "The conditions for uprising in Indochina are ripe... The entire nation is eagerly awaiting an uprising to gain independence."

August 13, 1976:The death anniversary of musician Cao Van Lau (born in 1892). He is considered the initiator of Cai Luong folk songs with the skillful combination of Southern folk songs with traditional songs. At the age of 26, he composed the song "Da Co Hoai Lang" (meaning: "Listening to the sound of the drum at night, missing my lover"). From this traditional song, the Cai Luong folk songs of the South were formed, imbued with the hearts of the people and the love for the homeland.
