(Baonghean)Each year, Nghe An Publishing House participates in the evaluation, editing, and publication of dozens of books on the history of districts and communes, ensuring that they meet the requirements in terms of content, form, and timeliness. The book "History of the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District," recently released by Nghe An Publishing House during the historic month of May, has initially received a positive response from readers.
With 435 pages and a hardcover, the book is divided into three chapters with specific time periods: 1930 – 1945, 1945 – 1975, and 1975 – 2012. Readers will be introduced to the formation, construction, and development of the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District over a period of 80 years (1930 – 2012).
The People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District were established in the 1930s, with the initial core being the Red Self-Defense Force. Although small in number, lacking a structured organization, and equipped with rudimentary gear, they contributed to the initial victories of the revolution. From this initial core, over time, the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District inherited the tenacious and indomitable fighting tradition of their forefathers, and were tempered and matured through the Nghe Tinh Soviet Uprisings of 1930-1931 and 1936-1939, contributing alongside the army and people nationwide to the success of the August 1945 General Uprising.
Following the successful revolution, the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District, along with the people of the whole country, faced difficulties and challenges to protect the fledgling new government amidst the encirclement of internal and external enemies (1945-1946); and throughout the 9 years of resistance against French colonialism (1946-1954), they contributed to the victory at Dien Bien Phu. Throughout 21 years of national construction and defense, fulfilling the role of a rear base, providing manpower and resources to the Southern battlefield, the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District have also made enormous contributions to the complete reunification of the country and the construction and development of their homeland from 1976 to the present.
Thanks to this, the People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District have been awarded the title of Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State, a title befitting the armed forces in the homeland of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
The book "People's Armed Forces of Nam Dan District" is a meaningful gift for today's readers, especially young people!
