Official match schedule of U23 Vietnam at ASIAD 2018
U23 Vietnam started their journey in the group stage of men's football at the 2018 ASIAD with a match against U23 Pakistan on August 15, a match against U23 Nepal on August 17, and on August 21, coach Park Hang Seo and his team will face the strongest opponent in Group D, U23 Japan.

After the re-drawing ceremony on the afternoon of July 25, U23 Vietnam was determined to be in group D. The teams will compete in a round robin, calculate points, select the top two teams in each group and the 4 third-place teams with the best performance to play in the round of 16.
“Obviously, U23 Vietnam will have to carefully calculate the first two matches before meeting Japan. This is an opponent we have faced quite a lot in recent years. We have carefully studied this team and come up with reasonable tactics,” said coach Park Hang Seo.
