The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations presented 130 million VND to the poor and veterans in difficult circumstances.

On the morning of December 19, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2022) and the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2022), the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations coordinated with the Veterans Liaison Committee of Brigade 299 - Corps 1 to organize a meeting and listen to news about the domestic and international situation presented by Associate Professor, Dr. Major General Le Van Cuong, Former Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies - Ministry of Public Security.

Attending the event were representatives of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, and veterans of Brigade 299 - Corps 1.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the historical journey of Brigade 299 - Army Corps 1.

Brigade 299 (formerly known as Architecture Regiment 299) was established in 1985, in the formation of the first combined arms army corps of our Army - Corps 1 - Quyet Thang Corps.

Through the process of building, fighting and growing, the brigade was honored to be awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" by the Party and State and many noble awards for collectives and individuals.

In the coming time, Brigade 299 is determined to continue to actively participate in building and protecting the Party and the government; unite and help each other develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, strive to become rich; actively participate in implementing the democratic regulations at the grassroots level, social activities; actively fight against crime, peaceful evolution; to contribute to maintaining political security, social order and safety, worthy of being a reliable support of Party committees at all levels, government and people.

In order to promote the tradition of mutual love and support of the nation and respond to the Call for support and help for the poor to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2023 of the Provincial Party Secretary, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province, the Veterans Liaison Committee of Brigade 299 - Corps 1, and business organizations donated 130 million VND to the poor and veterans in difficult circumstances.
