The VNA correspondent in New York quoted the press conference of Mr. Farhan Haq - Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General - stating that Secretary-General Guterres is closely following information related to the tension in the border area between Thailand and Cambodia. The UN chief called on "both sides to exercise maximum restraint and resolve all issues through dialogue in the spirit of good neighborliness to seek a lasting solution to the dispute".

On the same day, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott issued a statement saying that Washington "calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the protection of civilians" and the resolution of differences through peaceful means.
