Media outlets have reported that several high-ranking officials representing the Internet PC Culture Association (IPCA), a coalition of internet cafes in South Korea, are preparing a petition to request that the Korea Fair Trade Commission investigate Microsoft.
The IPCA is expected to file this complaint later this month, alleging that the software giant violated South Korean anti-copyright laws by exploiting its position to sell software at higher prices to internet cafes.
A senior IPCA official stated, "We are planning to sue Microsoft at the Korea Fair Trade Commission for its one-sided sales policies and its steadfast stance against us by exploiting its dominant position to oppress us."
Meanwhile, another official stated that Microsoft's purchase price for the Windows operating system was as high as the price of a personal computer.
