A series of knife attacks against Israelis

On October 30, Israeli police said two Palestinians used knives to attack Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, one of whom was shot dead and the other seriously injured.

According to a statement from the Israeli police, the incident occurred at 12 noon local time when two Palestinians on a motorcycle arrived at the Tapuach checkpoint. When they got off the motorcycle, the two men pulled out knives and approached the border guards.

Security forces opened fire, killing one Palestinian and seriously wounding another. No Israelis were injured in the incident.

In Jerusalem, a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli civilian. As he tried to stab another person, the attacker was shot and seriously injured.

A wave of violence between Palestinians and Israelis erupted in mid-September over tensions surrounding the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in East Jerusalem. The violence spread to the West Bank, Gaza Strip and other parts of Israel.

So far, at least 11 Israelis and 68 Palestinians have been killed, while more than 2,000 people on both sides have been injured in the clashes.
