Authorities have apprehended two individuals for evading checkpoints to purchase drugs.

On August 28th, the Nghi Loc District Police announced that during inspections at quarantine checkpoints, they promptly detected two cases involving two individuals illegally possessing narcotics.

Earlier, at approximately 12:30 PM on August 21, 2021, a traffic police team from Nghi Loc District Police, in coordination with Covid-19 disease control checkpoint No. 6 located at the foot of Nghi Yen overpass, Nghi Loc District, discovered and apprehended HST (born in 1994), residing in Hamlet 2, Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District, for illegally possessing narcotics.

Subsequently, at approximately 7 PM on August 26, 2021, Covid-19 prevention checkpoints No. 2 and No. 3, located in Dong Thinh hamlet, Khanh Hop commune, in coordination with the Khanh Hop commune police, detected a suspect, NVX (born in 1984), residing in Block 7, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town, exhibiting suspicious behavior.

When asked to present identification, the suspect could not provide a reason for being out during the lockdown period, so the task force proceeded with a search and caught the suspect red-handed for illegally possessing narcotics. The seized items included: 1 packet of synthetic methamphetamine (crystal meth) weighing 1.2 grams, 1 mobile phone, and 1 motorbike.

At the Police Investigation Agency, the suspects confessed that they bought the drugs for personal use because they needed them, and when...through the quarantine checkpointThey deliberately bypassed the checkpoint.

Currently, the Nghi Loc District Police are consolidating the case files to strictly prosecute the suspects in accordance with the law.
