Sentenced to 20 years in prison for not receiving 5 million dong in wages
(Baonghean.vn) - When a strange man offered to transport drugs for 5 million VND, Gia Ba Po agreed. However, before he could receive his payment, the young man was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Nghe An Provincial People's Court has just brought defendant Gia Ba Po (born 1992), residing in Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district, to the first instance trial for the crime of "Illegally transporting narcotics".
According to the case file, at about 11:00 a.m. on June 28, 2019, Gia Ba Po was in Cha Lo village, Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district when a man on a motorbike approached and introduced himself as Mua from Ky Son district.

The season asked Po if he was hired to transport “goods”. Po asked where it was being transported from and how much it would cost. The man replied that he would transport it from Huoi Moi village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district to Cha Lo village for 5 million VND. Po agreed.
After that, Gia Ba Po borrowed a motorbike from a man in the same village to go to the meeting place. While waiting, a Mong man came and gave Po a white plastic bag. Po put the drugs in the trunk of the motorbike and went towards Cha Lo village. When he arrived, Po hid the drugs in the bushes and went home.
At around 12 noon on June 29, Mua called Po to deliver drugs to National Highway 16 in Cha Lo village. Po walked to the bushes to get the "goods" to deliver to Mua, but was arrested by the working group of Nhon Mai Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard Command, and the evidence confiscated was 186.73 grams of drugs.
At the trial, the defendant initially denied the crime. Po claimed he did not know it was drugs until he was arrested by the police, but later admitted to the entire crime. In his final statement, the defendant asked for a lighter sentence because it was his first offense and he had not received any money from the business deal.
For the crime of "Illegal transportation of drugs", Gia Ba Po was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
