Sacred candle lighting ceremony to honor heroic martyrs and youth volunteers
(Baonghean.vn) - The candle lighting ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the youth volunteers took place solemnly, sacredly and emotionally, expressing the gratitude of today's young generation to those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Practically commemorating the 51st anniversary of Truong Bon Victory (October 31, 1968 - October 31, 2019), demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", on the evening of October 29, at Truong Bon National Historical Site, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the Heroes and martyrs of the youth volunteers.

On behalf of Nghe An youth, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom - Acting Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union reviewed the feats of the provincial youth volunteer force in the resistance war against the US to save the country. On Route 15A and the "fire coordinate" Truong Bon (My Son commune - Do Luong), the focus of fierce attacks by the US air force, 1,240 youth volunteer soldiers fell so that convoys could pass safely, ensuring the provision of human and material resources to the southern battlefield.

In particular, the heroic sacrifice of 13 Youth Volunteers of Squad 317, Nghe An Youth Volunteers General Team at Truong Bon in the early morning of October 31, 1968. The Youth Volunteers sacrificed their lives at a very young age, and it was even more painful when the US would stop bombing the North in just a few hours. Their sacrifice is an immortal epic of youth in the war for national liberation and reunification.
The Truong Bon victory is a victory of courage, indomitable will, fighting spirit and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; the pinnacle of people's war, a symbol of revolutionary heroism, reminding today's young generation of a time when the country was difficult but very glorious.

Truong Bon National Historical Site is a sacred place, affirming the immortal spirit of the country and people; an address for today's and future generations to express their gratitude and understand the value of a peaceful and independent life. At the same time, it raises awareness of striving and contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, worthy of the sacrifice of heroes and martyrs.
The war has long since ended, but the Truong Bon victory remains a symbol of the brave and indomitable spirit; the patriotism of the people of Nghe An province in particular, the Vietnamese people in general, as well as the heroic sacrifice of 1,240 officers and soldiers participating in protecting this Truong Bon fire route.
Truong Bon Registration, on September 23, 2008, President Nguyen Minh Triet signed the Decision to confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on a collective of 14 Truong Bon Youth Volunteers belonging to the legendary "Steel Squad", Company 317, Team 65, Youth Volunteers General Team against America, saving the country, Nghe An province.
