Liverpool hand Chelsea their first defeat of the new season
Two goals from Lovren and Henderson in the first half helped Jurgen Klopp's team win 2-1 in the early match of round five of the Premier League.
The win helped Liverpool move up to second place, level on 10 points with Chelsea and Everton. The only goal the home team got was a goal from Diego Costa in the 62nd minute.
The match marked the Premier League debut of new signing David Luiz after his return to Chelsea from PSG. However, the Brazilian centre-back's debut was a disaster, with two first-half goals and a collision that left him with a bloody nose.
Playing on the field of a strong opponent, Liverpool still had the upper hand. In the second minute, Daniel Sturridge dribbled the ball close to the right edge of the penalty area and then curled the ball with his left foot, but luckily for Chelsea, the ball went straight to Thibaut Courtois.

In the 17th minute, Liverpool opened the scoring. From a cross from Coutinho, Dejan Lovren swooped in and volleyed a shot from 5.5 meters, beating Courtois. The trigger for this situation was a foul by Branislav Ivanovic, leading to a free kick for Liverpool on the left wing.
While the visitors were preparing to receive the cross in the box, Chelsea's defenders were playing like they were asleep. They left three Liverpool players behind, two of whom were offside but Lovren was not.
In the 21st minute, centre-back David Luiz suffered a bloody nose after colliding with Sadio Mane, forcing the match to be suspended. Four minutes later, Chelsea's goal was once again shaken by Sturridge's clever step-over and cross. Chelsea's defence allowed the Liverpool striker to run down with a large gap in front of him.
From the 25th to the 35th minute, Chelsea started to regain control of the game and organized some attacks. But all depended on Willian's efforts on the right wing. In the 36th minute, Antonio Conte's team conceded the second goal.
Waiting outside the box to receive Gary Cahill's clearance, Jordan Henderson controlled the ball with one touch and then unleashed a perfect right-footed curler that sent the ball straight into the Chelsea net following the trajectory of falling yellow leaves. The Liverpool captain's brilliant finish gave Courtois no chance to block.

In the second half, Chelsea pushed their squad forward in search of a goal. However, their attacks proved ineffective. It was not until the 61st minute that Conte's students scored.
Nemanja Matic dribbled skillfully, bringing the ball down to the touchline and then crossing for Costa to tap the ball in with one touch, beating Mignolet. In the 65th minute, the Spanish striker had another chance to finish in the penalty area but his left-footed shot was not dangerous and Mignolet easily controlled it.
In the 81st minute, James Milner's cross hit a Chelsea defender, sending the ball to Divock Origi. The Belgian striker jumped high to head the ball, forcing Courtois to show off his talent to block. After this situation, Chelsea substituted three players at the same time, Moses, Pedro and Fabregas.

However, these changes could not help the home team find an equalizer in the final minutes of the match. This was Chelsea's first defeat of the season, causing them to continue to run out of steam in their efforts to keep up with Man City. The poor form of the defense in this match will certainly be Conte's top concern in the coming time.
