Revealed: The person who left a 14-month-old boy at the hospital who was brutally abused

After many hours of active investigation and surveillance at the hospital, Lang Thuong Ward Police (Hanoi) have identified the person involved in the case of a 14-month-old baby being beaten and abandoned.

Major Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of Lang Thuong Ward Police, Dong Da District, Hanoi, said that Xanh Pon Hospital still has the handwriting of the person who brought the child to the hospital, stating his name as Nguyen Truong Giang, living in Tao Duong village, Hong Duong commune, Thanh Oai district (Hanoi), temporarily residing at K8 - 7.2ha area, Vinh Phuc ward (Ba Dinh district).

The baby's body had many bruises.

In the medical record, this person stated that the child was Nguyen Dinh Phong, living at 6D Nghia Dung beach, Phuc Xa ward (Ba Dinh district). However, while the doctor was focusing on first aid for the child, this young man sneaked out and left.

The ward police have verified the information provided by the hospital. The working group determined that the addresses recorded in the records were not real.

“Given the seriousness of the incident, the Dong Da District Police Department leaders went directly to the hospital at 2 a.m. to visit the child and at the same time directed the task force to investigate the case. Considering that the subject would likely return to the hospital, a task force was assigned to set up a post right at the Emergency Department,” said Major Tuan.

At around 5am on August 4, Lang Thuong Ward Police discovered 5 people entering the Children's Hospital to inquire about the whereabouts of the child, including 1 person whose identifying characteristics were very similar to the person who brought the child to Xanh Pon Hospital.

Immediately, the working group invited everyone to the headquarters to clarify and identify the person who directly brought the child to the hospital as Nguyen Thanh H. (born in 1978), residing at 58 Yen Phu Street (Ba Dinh).

The baby is being cared for in hospital.

Although H. is a woman, her appearance, the way she walks, speaks, and dresses are very similar to that of a man. Anyone who meets her for the first time thinks she is a man. H. stated that the child's real name is TTA (born August 23, 2016), the child's mother's name is D.LH (born 1983), residing on Tong Duy Tan Street (Hoan Kiem District).

Because the baby's mother was recently arrested for drug-related crimes, she sent her child to a friend to raise.

In early August, this friend was busy with work so he asked H. to help take care of the baby for a while. On August 3, seeing that the baby was showing signs of being in danger, H. took the baby to the hospital and abandoned him there.

Regarding the false names and addresses of herself and the baby at the hospital, H. explained that she wanted to hide her background so that the police could not verify.

Regarding the injuries on the child's body, H. firmly denied that he caused them.

The case is being further investigated by the authorities.
