Bayern Munich appoints Vincent Kompany as new coach
After much speculation, Belgian coach Vincent Kompany has finally officially signed a contract with Bayern Munich and will lead the Bavarian team with a contract that lasts until 2027.
Bayern Munich have had a tough time finding a new coach after sacking Thomas Tuchel. Almost all the coaches Bayern have been linked with, from Naglesmann,or Ralf Rangnick have both refused this team.

As a player, Kompany played in Germany from 2006 to 2008 for Hamburg. During the 2008-2019 period, the former Belgian midfielder played for Man City and became a legend of the club when he won 4 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups and 2 Community Shields.
In 2020, Kompany returned to Belgium to start his coaching career at Anderlecht. Three years later, he and Burnley won the English First Division, earning a ticket to play in the Premier League. However, the promotion had to stop last season. Burnley finished second to last in the 2023-2024 Premier League, having to return to the First Division with Luton Town and Sheffield United.
Because Kompany's contract with Burnley is until the summer of 2028, Bayern had to pay about $13 million in compensation.
