A shipment of smuggled alcohol worth nearly one billion VND was intercepted on the way to Hanoi.
While transporting a batch of more than 400 bottles of smuggled alcohol to Hanoi for sale, when arriving in Ha Tinh, Mr. Hinh's truck was seized by authorities.
On the afternoon of May 27, while on patrol duty on National Highway 1A through Can Loc District (Ha Tinh), Ha Tinh Traffic Police discovered a truck with a Hanoi license plate that appeared suspicious and asked to stop for inspection.

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered dozens of cartons of foreign wine in the back of the truck, a total of 436 bottles, worth nearly one billion VND.
The owner, Mr. Dang Van Hinh (residing in Binh Duong), declared that the wine originated from Scotland, but did not have any invoices, documents, or import stamps.He said the wine was transported from Quang Tri to Hanoi for consumption.
Authorities have drawn up a record of confiscation and handed over the smuggled alcohol to the Ha Tinh Market Management Department for handling.
