The most practical November 20 wishes from the Minister of Education
On the morning of November 16, speaking in the hallway of the National Assembly, Minister Phung Xuan Nha had a message for teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
On November 20, what message does the Minister have for teachers?
Vietnamese Teachers' Day is coming soon, I would like to share and sympathize with teachers and will accompany the teaching staff.
There are many responsibilities and challenges for teachers. As a Minister and head of the sector, I understand and will work together, and will represent teachers to work with competent authorities, on the one hand to improve the quality of education, and on the other hand, to have all sectors and levels work together with the education sector. Only then will the cause of educational innovation be successful.
But if we only ask teachers to try harder and innovate but their working conditions, salary, working conditions, and even their honor are not properly protected, it will not work.
I will try my best to create a favorable working environment for teachers and protect teachers properly. This is my most practical wish for teachers.

So, does the Ministry of Education and Training have any direction in improving the salary policy for teachers that is currently causing many concerns, sir?
This is a very big problem. The Ministry is currently reviewing the standards for teachers, principals, and state management officials in education. When standards are improved to improve quality, income must also improve.
Of course, the Ministry of Education and Training cannot decide on the issue of teachers' salaries. The Ministry has worked with the Ministry of Home Affairs to effectively implement Resolution 29, which is that teachers receive the highest salary scale.
At the same time, the Ministry is also drafting amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Education Law, to codify the status of teachers or specific policies for teachers. High requirements must go hand in hand with appropriate treatment.
When teachers are required to have higher standards of knowledge and skills, the regime must also be appropriate. If teachers are only required to improve their quality but the regime remains the same, it is not acceptable.
The Ministry of Education and Training is responsible for coordinating with the Ministry of Home Affairs and other ministries to develop and unify such a policy mechanism. Up to now, through preliminary work, other ministers have basically agreed and supported this spirit. But the problem is how to specifically ensure that high responsibility must go hand in hand with corresponding benefits. This is not a simple issue but must be done./.
