Due to the poor performance of FLC Thanh Hoa in recent matches, the club's Board of Directors has decided to part ways with coach Marian Mihail. Before leaving, the Romanian coach shared his final thoughts, especially regarding the 1-3 loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa.

The 1-3 loss on the afternoon of April 5 against Sanna Khanh Hoa caused FLC Thanh Hoa to fall to 7th place on the V.League rankings. Thus, after 4 matches in V.League 2018, FLC Thanh Hoa lost 2 and won 2. Before that, when playing 4 matches in AFC Cup 2018, this team won 1, drew 1 and lost 2. The common point in these 8 matches is that FLC Thanh Hoa did not score more than 1 goal in any match.

In the recent 1-0 victory over SLNA, FLC Thanh Hoa leaders also expressed dissatisfaction with the team's playing style as well as the tactics built by coach Marian Mihail. Specifically, Club President Doan Van Phuong said that the club's playing style was still not smooth, and the attacks lacked definition. It should be remembered that, before the season, FLC Thanh Hoa was one of the two most active teams in the transfer market.

The defeat against Sanna Khanh Hoa was the last straw, causing FLC Thanh Hoa to decide to end their relationship with coach Marian Mihail. According to the latest information, this Romanian coach also agreed to part ways with the Thanh team after less than 3 months of cooperation. Before leaving, this Romanian coach shared his final thoughts.

“I have to admit, we didn’t start the season well. For Quang Nam and Thanh Hoa, their players thought that last year they won the championship and finished second, so this year they would play just as well. But for me, football is different every day. Yesterday you might have played well but today you didn’t,” said coach Marian Mihail.

“The results in the past period were not good. I wanted to leave so that the team could change for the better. This position needed to be reserved for a more suitable person and fortunately I soon realized that I was not the right person to take the team to the top,” the Romanian coach added.

Before becoming the head coach of FLC Thanh Hoa to replace his predecessor Petrovic, Mr. Marian Mihail had led a number of Eastern European and West Asian teams such as FC Bacau, Sportul Studentesc, Rocar Bucuresti, Al-Riyadh, Al-Jaish, Al-Jahra and also worked as the Technical Director of the Romanian Football Federation.

It is known that after parting ways with coach Marian Mihail, the FLC Thanh Hoa Board of Directors will promote coach Hoang Thanh Tung to take temporary charge./.
