Taking advantage of cable car project to illegally exploit sand in Lam River estuary
(Baonghean.vn) - The Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has just handled a case of taking advantage of transporting sand, soil, and construction waste to illegally exploit sand and gravel in the Lam River estuary area.
Accordingly, at around 10:00 p.m. on March 9, authorities discovered that Mr. Tran Quang Hai's iron-hulled boat (residing in Block 2, Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City) was using a vacuum cleaner with a large nozzle.illegal sand mining, at the Lam River estuary, near Hai Giang 1 block, Cua Lo town; then bring the above sand to Nguyen Huu Dong's gathering place at Hai Giang 1 block.

At the time of discovering the illegal activity, all four crew members on the boat could not present any documents related to sand mining, transportation, and trading.
Through initial investigation, the subjects involved confessed that they took advantage of the contract to transport soil, sand and construction waste during the construction of the cable car tower connecting Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town to Ngu island, to illegally exploit about 5,000 m3 of sand on the Lam river estuary to make a profit.
The Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has drawn up a record of the incident and is handling it according to the provisions of law.
