Confession of the boy kidnapper, blackmailing 15 billion VND
After kidnapping a 7-year-old boy, Nguyen Duc Trung asked for the phone number of the boy's parents and called to demand ransom.
On the morning of August 15, the leader of Hanoi City Police said that the unit had decided to temporarily detain Nguyen Duc Trung (born in 1992, from Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province).
Nguyen Duc Trung is the suspectkidnap7 year old boy in Viet Hung ward on the evening of August 14.
According to Trung's initial statement, at around 6 p.m., he drove into Viet Hung urban area and saw NHP riding a bike alone. Immediately, the suspect stopped the car, beat the child, and carried the child straight into the car. After leaving the scene, Trung asked for P.'s mother's phone number, contacted her, and offered a ransom of 15 billion VND...
The child’s parents had prepared about 13 billion VND. The kidnapper asked the family to move to many locations. He continuously moved to Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Ha Nam...
After many hours of pursuit, at 5am this morning, the authorities arrested Trung while he was in Ha Nam.
"The boy was rescued safely, without any injuries on his body,"Long Bien District Police leader said.
However, the suspect prepared a gun to fight back on the run. While fighting back against the police, the suspect opened fire, causing a criminal police officer of Long Bien District Police to be hit by a bullet and injured in the thigh.
Hanoi City Police are investigating the case.
