Native black pigs increase in price sharply
(Baonghean) - This year, due to the scarcity of pork and high prices, although Tet is still more than a month away, many families have been "eagerly" looking to buy black pigs, also known as Man pigs, to eat during Tet.
A week ago, Ms. Tran Thi Ha in Do Luong district contacted some pig farmers in Con Cuong to order native black pigs (also known as wild pigs) for her family to "touch" during Tet.
Ms. Ha shared: "I am looking to buy now to make sure I have food and avoid shortages and high prices during Tet. Especially this year, the price of live pigs is usually nearly 100,000 VND/kg, so the price of local pigs has increased by one and a half times. Like last year, I bought black pigs for 80,000 VND/kg, but this year it has increased to 150,000 VND/kg."

Many people in the city also order black pigs from the mountains to celebrate Tet, but in general, there are few and high prices.
Currently, many traders also collect goods from remote villages to sell on the market. Therefore, the price of native black pigs has increased even higher.
Native black pig is a mountain specialty popular during Tet. With the advantage of clean, delicious, firm pork, it is very popular with many customers.
This year, the price of black pigs has increased by one and a half times compared to normal days, but the supply is still scarce due to the recent impact of African swine fever. This breed of pig has also been killed by African swine fever, killing thousands of pigs in highland areas such as Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong.
