However, at around 9am on June 26, the Physics exam, a component of the Natural Science exam, and then the Chemistry exam, appeared on social networks.
Regarding the information that the exam questions were leaked before the natural science exam ended at 10:30 a.m. on June 26, at a press conference on the afternoon of June 27, Mr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that the Physics and Chemistry exam questions were leaked after the exam time for these two subjects had ended, so it did not affect the test results of the candidates.
Immediately after receiving information about the leaked exam questions, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with relevant agencies to verify the information and investigate which cases allowed the exam questions to be leaked.
According to statistics, during the entire exam, only 77 candidates violated the exam regulations. Of these, 73 were suspended from the exam for bringing phones and documents into the exam room. Up to now, there has been no information showing that there was any phenomenon of bringing in answers from outside, and no exam supervisors have been disciplined.
Mr. Mai Van Trinh also affirmed that at point B, clause 4, article 14 of the National High School Exam Regulations, it is stipulated that candidates are allowed to bring into the exam room recording devices to detect exam cheating.

This is to enhance detection and monitoring of negative activities in the examination room, but must ensure that the device only has the function of recording information and cannot transmit information and cannot receive direct audio or video signals without other supporting devices.
This regulation has been implemented for a few years now and has contributed to reducing negative factors and ensuring safety in examination rooms. However, whether this regulation is still appropriate or not remains to be seen.
According to the report of the Ministry of Education and Training, the exam had 925,753 candidates registered to take the exam, held at 2,144 exam locations with 39,689 exam rooms; mobilized nearly 45,000 officers and lecturers mobilized from 216 universities, academies; colleges and universities participated in coordinating the organization of the exam.
Statistics show that this year the percentage of candidates registering to take the exam to get admission results to universities and colleges is about 74.3% (in 2017 it was nearly 75%).
