The 215th Tank Brigade deploys to assist local people in building irrigation and transportation infrastructure.

(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the 2014 nationwide campaign to build irrigation and transportation infrastructure, on the morning of October 18th, Brigade 215, stationed in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district, coordinated with the local government to mobilize its officers and soldiers to build irrigation and transportation infrastructure with great enthusiasm and achieved high results.

Officers and soldiers of Brigade 215 deployed to dredge and clean the canal from the Brigade headquarters to the Tuan intersection.

Immediately after receiving the plan from the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District to launch a campaign for all citizens to participate in irrigation and transportation infrastructure development, the Party Committee and Command of Brigade 215, in coordination with local authorities to assess the situation and mobilize the people to participate in the campaign, assigned specific tasks to each unit and troop. They disseminated information through mass media, at unit meetings, and created numerous banners and slogans supporting the 2014 irrigation and transportation infrastructure development campaign. This contributed to raising awareness and responsibility for protecting a green, clean, and beautiful environment, and fostered solidarity between officers, soldiers, and the local people.

Following the plan, the Brigade mobilized nearly 300 officers and soldiers to repair, dredge, and clean the main canal section bordering Quynh Tam commune, passing through the Brigade to Hamlet 8, Quynh Chau commune, with a length of 1,700m, and the concrete road section from the Brigade to Tuan Junction with a length of 2,000m. After one morning, with the active and serious work of all officers and soldiers of the Brigade, the canal sections were repaired and cleaned, contributing to ensuring hygiene and drainage for households living in the surrounding area.

With decisive leadership and the enthusiastic participation of officers and soldiers, the 215th Tank Brigade's irrigation and transportation infrastructure construction campaign was successful and exceeded the assigned plan. This is a practical and meaningful activity, contributing to better irrigation for the 2014 winter-spring crop, accelerating the progress of new rural development, and further strengthening the close solidarity between the soldiers of the 215th Tank Brigade and the people in the area where they are stationed.

* On October 17th and 18th, the 215th Tank Brigade organized construction projects to assist the people of Nghia Phu commune, Nghia Dan district.

Nearly 150 soldiers from the unit, along with the people of Nghia Phu commune, built a football field, dug and built roads, and dredged canals along a 3 km stretch in Phu Hoa, Phu Loc, and Phu Nguyen hamlets, with the projects valued at over 20 million VND.

During this period, Unit 215 also organized free medical examinations, treatment, and medication distribution for 49 relatives of martyrs, wounded soldiers, and victims of Agent Orange in the area.

In addition, the unit also organized a cultural exchange night to strengthen the solidarity between the military and the people. This is one of the activities of the 215th Tank Brigade aimed at contributing to the construction of new rural areas.
