Former project manager was turned in by relatives after being scammed into selling 3 cars

Renting a car with the promise of self-driving and then using it to get money for spending, Doan Duy Minh was taken to the police station by his family to surrender.

On November 18, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province Police announced that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute Doan Duy Minh (born in 1973, residing in Thanh Son Ward, Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province) to investigate the act of Fraudulent appropriation of property.

It is known that Minh used to work at the Project Management Board of Uong Bi City.

Previously, on October 27, 2017, the Investigation Police Department of Quang Ninh Province received the case file of Fraudulent appropriation of property transferred by Uong Bi City Police.

Initial information determined that in July and August 2017, Doan Duy Minh used fraudulent tricks to rent 3 self-driving cars in Uong Bi City and then pawned them to get money to spend and pay off debts.

With the persuasion and encouragement of the police, in mid-November 2017, Doan Duy Minh's relatives brought him to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department to surrender in order to receive leniency.

At the police station, Doan Duy Minh confessed to his crime; and the subject was prosecuted and detained by the Investigation Police to investigate the act of Fraudulent appropriation of property.
