Along with personnel work, financial violations have occurred in many places. But the recent findings of the Central Inspection Committee on financial violations at the Southwest Steering Committee show a new manifestation.

Here, the head of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee was lax in management and lacked responsibility, allowing subordinates to violate regulations on financial and asset management; leaving over one hundred billion VND off the accounting books; creating fake documents to withdraw state budget and funding, causing serious loss of state money and assets.

It is gratifying that the act of “cleaning up records” with real invoices and documents for dirty matters has been discovered, but it is worrying that it has appeared right in a regional Party agency like the Southwest Steering Committee, which needs to be considered and strictly handled after the clear and convincing conclusion of the Central Inspection Committee.
