The dense news information on the media in the past few days has heated up public opinion.

Internationally wanted criminals turned themselves in, wealthy tycoons were arrested, and typical violations in "special regional agencies" such as the Southwest Steering Committee were also discovered, with clear, decisive, convincing conclusions, without evasion, causing the whole society to pay special attention and follow up.

Many corrupt officials have been exposed and named, many high-ranking officials who committed violations have been disciplined or are under the "sword" of Party discipline and State law.

“A not small number” of corrupt officials is no longer a general concept in the document but has been exposed to the public and clearly identified.

It is not only the "small fry" officials who have been discovered sporadically embezzling the poor's aid money, but also the "big officials" with sophisticated and organized methods and tricks, creating a cover that is not easy to detect.

Recent incidents have shown that one of the "loopholes" that those who seek positions and power try to penetrate is the weak links in the organization of cadres.

The phenomenon of "the whole family holding office" and "lightning-speed appointments" regardless of standards, conditions, procedures, or correct procedures, but is a process they create as a cover.

The names Trinh Xuan Thanh was planned to be Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and then transferred to become Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province; the case of 44/46 officials becoming leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hai Duong; the case of Ms. Tran Vu Quynh Anh in Thanh Hoa who was promoted rapidly and many other cases in other provinces and cities... are no longer isolated.

More specifically, a new method and trick has appeared when a type of cadre is appointed at lightning speed "only need position, no need salary".

That is the case of Vu Minh Hoang - a 26-year-old man who has never worked a day at the Economic Department, Southwest Steering Committee, was secretly appointed as Deputy Director of the Department without salary, only taking "title", and then immediately transferred to be Deputy Director of a department-level unit of Can Tho City to continue without salary and to study abroad.

Those involved have thoroughly exploited the stages of personnel work to turn this place into a "transit station" on the official road.

Along with personnel work, financial violations have occurred in many places. But the recent findings of the Central Inspection Committee on financial violations at the Southwest Steering Committee show a new manifestation.

Here, the head of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee was lax in management and lacked responsibility, allowing subordinates to violate regulations on financial and asset management; leaving over one hundred billion VND off the accounting books; creating fake documents to withdraw state budget and sponsorship money, causing serious loss of state money and assets.

It is fortunate that the act of “cleaning up records” with real invoices and documents for dirty matters has been discovered, but it is worrying that it has appeared right in a regional Party agency like the Southwest Steering Committee, which needs to be considered and strictly handled after the clear and convincing conclusion of the Central Inspection Committee.

The fight against corruption has reached a climax, proving that there are “no forbidden zones” in handling violations and crimes.

The fight against corruption has never been as fierce and effective as it is today. This is due to careful preparation, a systematic approach, and a very specific strategy.

Public opinion has followed the conclusions of the 16 meetings of the Central Inspection Commission over the past 18 months since the 12th Party Congress, which have been clear, specific, and timely.

This shows that, by doing things scientifically, methodically, in accordance with functions and authority, drawing accurate and convincing conclusions, without any favoritism or evasion, and absolutely no tolerance, regardless of whether it is a retired cadre or a current Politburo member who violates. Disciplining one person to save thousands of people is the humanity of the Party's inspection and discipline work.

A war against a hidden enemy that is extremely complex, extremely intense, and a matter of life and death, whose effectiveness has long been doubted, is now heating up, creating increasingly stronger confidence.

"The fight against corruption, waste, and negativity is not just a case-by-case, but has now become a movement, a trend, done systematically, assigned to which agency to do it, what the results will be, when it will be completed. This is a very valuable experience. Creating a trend, a movement is fundamental... The furnace is already hot, so even fresh wood must burn" - the heartfelt statements of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, both guiding, assessing, evaluating, and orienting, strongly calling for the fight against corruption are also being strongly supported and responded to by public opinion.
