Fire destroys ancient house in Hoi An.
The old house at 134 Tran Phu Street has two floors and an area of approximately 100 square meters, used as a business selling fabrics and ready-made clothing.
At 8:00 AM on July 9th, the ancient house at 134 Tran Phu Street, located next to Kazic Park in Hoi An Old Town, Quang Nam Province, caught fire violently.
During the fire, the house was locked, and residents in the surrounding area shouted for help, bringing fire extinguishers and water to assist. Shortly afterward, the Fire Prevention and Control Police Department of Hoi An city and Quang Nam province mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers along with 3 fire trucks to the scene, successfully extinguishing the fire after more than an hour.

According to local residents, the cause of the fire may have been due to the business owner burning incense to worship the god of wealth, then leaving the house and locking the door. However, Mr. Le Viet Duc, the tenant of the business premises, stated that he himself opened the door before 8 am, then closed it to buy coffee and did not light incense to worship the god of wealth as usual.
Mr. Vo Dang Phong, Deputy Director of the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Conservation Management Center, said: The ancient house at 134 Tran Phu Street has two floors and an area of about 100 square meters, used for selling fabrics and ready-made clothing. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the authorities.
In August 2012, in Zone I of Hoi An Old Town, a fire also destroyed house number 94 on Tran Phu Street.
