Lawyer who met Trump's son once protected Russian security services
The female lawyer who spoke with Trump Jr. once defended the interests of the Russian Federal Security Service in a dispute.

Female lawyerNatalia Veselnitskaya hashelped the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) win a dispute over ownership of a building in northwest Moscow between 2005 and 2013, ReutersJuly 21, citing Russian court documents.
This is the female lawyer who met with the son and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump last year with the promise of providing information that was detrimental to Hillary Clinton, Mr. Trump's opponent in the race to the White House.
According to Russian court records, bahVeselnitskaya and Consulting CompanyKamerton represents "military unit"55002" in a property dispute.Russian legal documentsshows that the FSB established this military unit with an address behind the FSB headquarters.
It is unclear who filed the lawsuit, since at least 2003, but documents showRosimushchestvo, Russia's state property agency, is involved in the dispute.
The disputed building was privatized after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, but the Russian government says it was illegally sold to private companies.
Electronic equipment supplierElectronicssaid they were using the building. The company is owned by tstate corporationRostecby himSergei Chemezov runs. HeChemezov also worked for the KGB, the predecessor of the FSB.
With her supportVeselnitskaya,Russia's Court of Appeals has twice rejected requests by private companies involved in disputes with the FSB to force them to leave the building.The FSB did not respond to a request for comment.
Given this information,lawyerVeselnitskaya said she "encouraged to look further into the court data," saying that "it would be surprising" to see her clients, Russian businessmen, citizens, and companies, having to defend their interests against the government.She also has clients who are American citizens.
