Lao armed forces wish a Happy New Year to the Border Guard and Military Command of Nghe An province

The heads of the delegation sent their best wishes for a prosperous new year to all officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Border Guard, and hoped that the cooperative relationship of solidarity, friendship, steadfastness, loyalty and clarity between the Hua Phan Provincial Police, the Bolikhamxay Provincial Military and the Nghe An Border Guard in particular, and Nghe An province and border provinces in general would increasingly develop, contributing to protecting security and order, preventing crime, contributing to preserving the sovereignty and security of the Vietnam - Laos border, building a peaceful and friendly border that is increasingly developing.

The representative of the Nghe An Border Guard Command respectfully thanked the affection, help and coordination of the Hua Phan Provincial Police and the Bo Ly Kham Xay Provincial Military Command for the past time for the Nghe An Border Guard force. Especially the close and effective coordination in bilateral patrols to protect the border, maintain social order and safety; fight against all kinds of crimes, especially cross-border drug crimes; and propagate and mobilize people, especially ethnic minorities, not to migrate illegally.

At the Provincial Military Command, Major General Su-lin-phon, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Political Commissar of the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command, Head of the working delegation of the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command and Lieutenant Colonel Van-ta, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command, Head of the working delegation of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Military Command of Laos, informed about the socio-economic development situation of the two neighboring provinces; at the same time, sent New Year greetings of peace and prosperity, and gifts imbued with the cultural identity of the Land of a Million Elephants to officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command on the occasion of preparing to celebrate the traditional New Year of the Vietnamese people.

Receiving and working with the delegations, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff and Colonel Vuong Kim Hai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, informed the main features of the socio-economic development situation associated with strengthening national defense and security of Nghe An province in 2018.

Last year, with the efforts of the Party Committee, the government, the armed forces and the people, Nghe An province had a year with many good results. The economy grew quite well, completing 27/27 socio-economic development targets, the economic growth rate reached 8.77%, the budget revenue reached nearly 14,000 billion VND, the number of poor households decreased to 5.5%, national defense and security were maintained.

During the year, the Provincial Military Command's Collection Team closely coordinated with the provinces of Xieng Khouang, Xay Xom Bun, and Vientiane (Laos) to search for and exhume the remains of 98 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos and buried them at the Nghi Loc District Martyrs' Cemetery...

The Provincial Military Command hopes that in the coming time, the Military Command of Nghe An province, the Military Command of Hua Phan province, and the Military Command of Xieng Khouang province will continue to have close relations and coordination, especially in helping to train military officers for the two neighboring provinces, in building models of village-to-village friendship on both sides of the border, in building a peaceful and friendly border between the two countries, in searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died in the neighboring country... Thereby contributing to strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between the two peoples, the two Parties, the two States, and the two Armies of Vietnam and Laos to be increasingly green and forever sustainable.
