Ukrainian Armed Forces send reservists to Kharkiv
(Baonghean.vn) - The Ukrainian armed forces announced the movement of reserve troops to Kharkov in the context of the Russian army's strong offensive.

According to RIA Novosti, UNIAN news agency (Ukraine) on May 13 quoted Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian armed forces Anatoly Bargilevich as saying that reserve forces of the Ukrainian army have been sent to the Kharkov region, in the context of the Russian army's attack.
"Russian troops have become more active in the Volchansk area. Military clashes are taking place continuously," said Mr. Bargilevich.
According to Bargilevich, if these reserves had not been prepared in the past two months, the situation would have become much worse.
Earlier, on May 12, the deputy of the Kharkov regional council, Alexander Skorik, said that the Russian army had begun to surround the city of Volchansk. According to him, Ukraine's position in the battles was very difficult. At the same time, the French newspaper Le Monde quoted an anonymous Ukrainian military officer as saying that the Kiev government was not prepared to defend Volchansk. In particular, in densely populated areas, there were no necessary means to "stop the advance" of the Russian army.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv, especially in Volchansk, extremely difficult. The Ukrainian General Staff said the operational situation in this direction was difficult, and noted the "tactical success" of the Russian army.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on May 13 that its army had improved its tactical position near four settlements in Kharkiv, marking effective operations after several days of attacks.
Russia launched a surprise attack on Kharkiv on May 10 with the participation of aircraft, artillery, infantry and armored vehicles. So far, Russia has announced that it has taken control of at least 9 villages in Kharkiv region, opening a new front in the northeast of the war./.
