Lukaku had just played for Belgium in the Euro 2020 qualifiers at the beginning of June, and was therefore allowed to join the training camp later than some other players. But the striker impressed the Man Utd board and staff by arriving at Carrington three days earlier than the regulation.
PageESPNLukaku will not pressure Man Utd to sell him to Inter, according to sources. The player is willing to stay at Old Trafford if the deal does not go through, and his early return to training is a positive sign.
Not returning to training, or deliberately returning late, is a common sign of players not wanting to continue their commitment to the team. However, Lukaku seems to be trying to make a good impression on coach Solskjaer in case he continues to play for Man Utd.
Lukaku had previously sent a secret message that he wanted to leave and his destination was Inter, coach Conte. This striker was afraid of having to play a backup role for Marcus Rashford in the center forward position under Solskjaer.
Negotiations between the two clubs have yet to make a breakthrough due to disagreements over price. Man Utd spent $97 million to buy Lukaku from Everton in the summer of 2017 and wanted to get the maximum return, while Inter only agreed to pay less than $70 million.
