Basic salary of civil servants increased by 90,000 VND from July 1

After July 1, the basic salary of cadres, civil servants and public employees will be at 1.3 million VND per month.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has just issued Circular 02/2017 guiding the implementation of the basic salary of 1.3 million VND per month, effective from July 1.The salary calculation for civil servants and public employees will be the basic salary multiplied by the current salary coefficient. Allowances will be 1.3 million VND multiplied by the current allowance coefficient.

To have funds for implementation, the Ministry of Home Affairs also stated that the minimum wage increase must be arranged within the scope of the assigned state budget estimate, striving to increase career revenue and use the unused funds for salary reform in 2016, if any. In addition, the state will take the source from saving 10% of regular expenditure or using 50% of the increased local budget revenue compared to the 2016 estimate.

In some localities with difficult budgets, after implementing the above regulations, if there is still a lack of resources to implement salary reform in 2017, the central budget will supplement the shortage for the locality to implement.
