The number of tourists visiting Nghe An in April increased dramatically.

Reporting on the socio-economic situation in April, the head of the Department of Planning and Investment stated that in April 2022, all levels and sectors implemented numerous solutions to address difficulties and boost production and business. As a result, the industrial production index in April is estimated to have increased by 16.85% compared to April 2021.

The service sector continued to record many positive results. Total retail sales of goods in April were estimated at VND 6,651 billion, an increase of 22.95% compared to the same period in 2021. Goods exports in April were estimated at USD 180 million, an increase of 7.38% compared to the same period; cumulative exports for the first four months were estimated at USD 729.4 million, an increase of 23.03%.

Along with the rest of the country, Nghe An has implemented many activities to carry out the plan to reopen tourism. As a result, in April, the number of tourists from within and outside the province visiting tourist destinations increased dramatically, estimated at 789,399, a 237.16% increase compared to the same period in 2021. Total revenue from tourism in April is estimated at 569 billion VND.

State budget revenue in the first four months of 2022 is estimated at 6,303 billion VND, reaching 42% of the projected target and equaling 98.6% of the same period in 2021. Of this, domestic revenue is estimated at 5,721 billion VND, and revenue from import and export activities is estimated at 581 billion VND.

The province's investment and business environment continues to improve significantly. Foreign relations, investment promotion, and support and development of businesses have been strengthened. In April (up to April 20, 2022), the province granted licenses to 3 new projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 1,347.8 billion.

As of April 20, 2022, the province had granted licenses to 36 new projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 4,224.2 billion. 35 projects were adjusted, including adjustments to the total investment capital of 14 projects (an increase of VND 12,980.3 billion). The total newly granted and increased capital amounted to VND 17,204.5 billion. As of April 20, 2022, the disbursement of provincial-managed public investment capital reached 20.22% of the detailed plan, higher than the same period in 2021.

In April, 133 new businesses were established, bringing the cumulative total for the first four months to 665, with a total registered capital of VND 7,912.6 billion. 58 businesses resumed operations, an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period last year.

The Provincial People's Committee also assessed that administrative reform, strengthening discipline and order have been given attention and direction, focusing on digital transformation in state agencies. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has also sent the Draft Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to solicit opinions from central ministries and agencies and provinces in the North Central region.

In addition, socio-cultural fields are well cared for, ensuring the effective implementation of social welfare issues. Scientific research and technological development activities are carried out according to plan. National defense, security, and social order and safety are ensured.

In the coming period, the situation is expected to remain challenging, especially given the complex developments in the world and the region, inflationary pressure, rising prices of raw materials, fuel, and many other basic commodities; and the ongoing complexities of the Covid-19 pandemic... all of which will have a significant impact on production and daily life. Based on this, the Provincial People's Committee has outlined 10 groups of tasks and solutions and requires all levels and sectors to continue implementing them synchronously, uniformly, promptly, and effectively.
