The reason why a mother in Ba Vi has not accepted the truth of mistaking her child for 6 years
Happiness was broken because the husband suspected his wife of having an affair, so the child did not resemble the father. After 6 years of raising the child, Ms. Huong was shocked to learn that the child was not biological.
On the afternoon of July 12, unable to hide the fatigue on her face, Ms. Huong shared that she was shocked to learn that the son she had raised for the past 6 years was not her biological child. That explains why the boy, as he grows older, looks less and less like his father or mother. Her biological child is being raised by another family.
However, the truth was discovered too late to save her marriage. In 2014, the couple divorced because he doubted his wife's fidelity, as evidenced by the fact that their first son was born unlike anyone else in the family. When they broke up, she had just given birth to her second child 6 months ago. Since then, she has been taking care of her two children alone. She left her home in Ba Vi to rent a house in Hanoi, found a job, and lovingly cared for her two children on behalf of her father.
She said that the three of them had gradually gotten used to this life, but one day last April, Mr. Son's family contacted her and said that the two families might have been given the wrong child 6 years ago. At that time, she did not believe it, but when she held the DNA test results in her hand, she was shocked.Since then, she has been living in a state of anxiety and worry. Her face is gaunt, her cheeks are sunken because she lost nearly 10 kg in a short period of time. Ms. Huong said that in recent days, she has had to go to the hospital frequently for treatment because of fatigue. Not accepting the truth, worried about her child, she kept delaying the exchange of the child even though the two families had met many times.
However, that delay is putting her under a lot of pressure. "Many people criticize me for not returning the child to Mr. Son, saying I'm asking for money from the hospital... But people don't understand, I did nothing wrong. I'm still taking good care of the child and raising him well. I've been doing this job for the past 6 years," said Ms. Huong.

The woman said that she had loved the boy who was not her biological son for the past 6 years, and that she did not stop loving him just because of a piece of paper stating that they were not blood related. She said that since she learned the truth, she loved him even more, and that she also really wanted to reunite with her biological son because the first time she saw him again, she saw that he looked a lot like her.
As much as she felt sorry for her own children, she was even more worried about having to exchange the two children. She was afraid that if she did not do a good job of ideological work, it would affect her children's psychology in the future. However, the main reason was that she herself was not ready and could not accept this truth.
"I hope everyone will give me time. I don't want to make things difficult for Mr. Son's family or the hospital. I also want to live with my child," said Ms. Huong.
She said her son is an emotional and individualistic person. She plans to quit her current job in Hanoi and go to Ba Vi to find a job. At that time, she will let her son gradually interact with his biological family; also giving herself the opportunity to be close to her biological son.
Thinking about the new life of the two children after 6 years away from their biological parents, Ms. Huong looked into the distance, her eyes wet.
Since discovering the mistake, the two families have visited each other about 10 times. Mr. Son said that he and his wife also told their son that Ms. Huong is his biological mother. "The family told him that when he grows up, he must take care of Ms. Huong. He is also very understanding, so from the very first day he called for Ms. Huong. Now, whenever I tell Ms. Huong to come, he is very happy," Mr. Son said.
Mr. Son really hopes that Ms. Huong will soon agree to exchange the child, partly to compensate for his biological child, partly because of the upcoming procedures for the two children to enter first grade. The two families are only 10 km apart.
6 years ago, on the morning of November 1, 2012, there were 3 pregnant women in labor at the Obstetrics Department, Ba Vi District General Hospital (Hanoi), including Ms. Huong and Mr. Son's wife. The two boys were born 20 minutes apart, and the midwife accidentally gave the wrong baby to the wrong family. When receiving the baby, Mr. Son and his wife suspected that they had mixed up the baby's diaper, but the doctor confirmed that there was no mistake.
As the baby grew older, Mr. Son and his wife realized that their child had many features that did not resemble them. Taking the baby for a DNA test, Mr. Son was surprised to receive the result that the baby was not related to his parents. Ms. Huong was also very shocked when she received the news. Both sides had done a DNA test in mid-April, and the result confirmed that there was a mistake in exchanging the baby. However, since then, the two families have not exchanged the two babies.
The two midwives involved in the incident apologized to the two families and were temporarily suspended from their professional duties and transferred to paperwork. One was also disciplined by the Party with a reprimand.
