Hoang Nam has just won the men's singles and doubles championship at the Vietnam F5 Futures, thanks to which he has gained 18 more ATP points. In addition, in previous tournaments, Hoang Nam has accumulated 14 more points, bringing the total number of points earned after five tournaments held at home to 32 points.

Currently, the Vietnamese tennis player is ranked 929th in the ATP rankings. Combined with the 32 points he just got, the 19-year-old tennis player will move up the ATP rankings very quickly. He will most likely approach the Top 700 after the rankings are announced in October.

“My goal this year is top 500, so I have to try harder in the next tournaments,” said Hoang Nam.

After winning the F5 Futures double, Hoang Nam still has a great chance in the next three tournaments held in Binh Duong. After that, he continued to participate in three Men's Futures tournaments in Hanoi before attending the Vietnam Open (a tournament in the Challenger system) in Ho Chi Minh City.

To achieve his goal of entering the top 500 of professional tennis players in the world, Hoang Nam said he needs to improve his fitness, serve and mental health. “For regular tournaments, fitness is very important and I have to prepare carefully for this issue,” said the Tay Ninh player.

Hoang Nam also admitted that, in addition to his good form, the two recent championships at F5 Men's Futures had a lucky factor. In addition, facing and defeating players ranked hundreds of places above him helped him gain more confidence after the victories. "Up until now, I still can't believe that I have won a Men's Futures tournament, my first professional championship. It is extremely meaningful and will be a motivation for me to strive further in my career. In the near future, I will try my best in each match at home tournaments."
