Ly Hoang Nam quickly defeated a tough opponent from Thailand.

This morning, Vietnam's number 1 tennis talent Ly Hoang Nam (ranked 559 ATP) defeated Kittiphong (Thailand, ranked 1,027 ATP), winning the right to enter the second round of the men's singles event of the Thailand F2 Futures professional tennis tournament.

Ly Hoang Nam has an impressive start in Thailand

The 27-year-old Thai player was once ranked in the ATP top 500 and is no stranger to Hoang Nam. The Tay Ninh native has beaten his opponent before, but in their most recent encounter last July, Hoang Nam had to retire when Kittiphong was leading 2-1 at the Davis Cup.

In this rematch, Hoang Nam is in good form after a series of 3 successful tournaments in Singapore. He used precise and tricky forehand shots to score points and dominate the game.

After only 1 hour of competition, Kiittiphong accepted to give up the racket with the scores of 6-2, 6-1 for Hoang Nam. The easy victory over a tough opponent helped Hoang Nam advance to round 2.

Entering the second round also helped Hoang Nam accumulate 1 more important professional point. His opponent in the next match is the winner of the match between teammate Trinh Linh Giang and Stevenson Kelsey (Canada).
