A thrilling 19-hour cross-border rescue operation saves a kidnapping victim.
Through resourcefulness and persistent negotiation, after more than 19 hours, the Ky Hoa Commune Police in Ha Tinh Province connected with Vietnamese people in Taiwan (China) and the Taiwanese police to successfully rescue Mr. D.VH (born in 1995), a resident of Ky Hoa Commune currently working as an overseas laborer in Taiwan, who had been kidnapped by a group of people who demanded a ransom of 400 million VND from his family.
Earlier, at around 9:30 PM on December 13th, the Ky Hoa Commune Police received information from Ms. NTH (born in 1970), residing in Ky Hoa Commune, Ha Tinh Province, stating that at around 8 PM on December 13th, she received a call via Messenger from her son, D.VH (born in 1995), residing in Hoa Thang Hamlet, Ky Hoa Commune, who is currently working as an overseas laborer in Taiwan.
Over the phone, Mr. H announced he was being held captive by a group of Taiwanese individuals and demanded that his family transfer 400 million VND, threatening him with beatings and torture if their demands were not met. During the video call via Messenger, it was confirmed that Mr. H was handcuffed and being beaten by several individuals, accompanied by his desperate screams. His family considered taking out a high-interest loan to pay the perpetrators.

Upon receiving the information, the Ky Hoa Commune Police immediately deployed forces to verify the incident. By 10:30 PM the same day, the Ky Hoa Commune Police had confirmed the details of the incident. Specifically, at approximately 7 PM on December 13th, a group of unidentified individuals waited at the dormitory where D.H.H. lived in Taichung, Taiwan. When Mr. H. returned from work, the perpetrators attacked and abducted him.
After capturing D.VH, the perpetrators beat and tortured him in an attempt to extract information about his relatives in Vietnam. Around 8 PM on December 13th, the perpetrators repeatedly contacted D.VH's relatives residing in Hoa Thang village, Ky Hoa commune, to threaten them.blackmailThey demanded that Mr. H.'s family transfer 400 million VND to them in order to release him.

Recognizing the extremely serious nature of the case, which threatened the lives of citizens, and adopting a "gentle, subtle, safe, and secure" approach, the Ky Hoa Commune Police resolutely fought against crime. They worked closely with D.VH's relatives to counter and delay over 60 calls from the perpetrators urging the family to transfer money. Simultaneously, they sought to gather documents and evidence from the perpetrators during their conversations with the family.
On the other hand, through professional methods and the personal connections of police officers in the commune and of D.VH, who is currently residing in Taiwan, efforts are being made to verify further relevant information. Every hour and every minute that passes brings despair to the mother, urgency from family members worried about D.VH's life, and a desperate desire to comply with their demands.
With their composure, the local police persuaded and encouraged D.VH's relatives to stay calm and prolong the time. The mental struggle temporarily subsided as dawn broke. Around 8:00 AM on December 14th, the local police contacted a Vietnamese interpreter in Taiwan, asking for their assistance and guiding them to the Taiwanese police station where H. resided to file a report.

Simultaneously, through an interpreter, the local police directly communicated with the Taiwanese police, sending the evidence they had collected to provide additional information to the Taiwanese police.
By 4:30 PM on December 14th, with evidence provided by the commune police and family members, and using professional methods, the Taiwanese police quickly identified the group of suspects and successfully rescued Mr. D.VH safely, much to the immense joy of his family, relatives, and the Ky Hoa commune police force.
