MU successfully recruited Lindelof

Manchester United (MU) announced that it has completed the contract to buy 22-year-old Swedish center-back Victor Lindelof from Benfica for 31 million pounds.

Victor Lindelof has emerged as a key figure for the Swedish national team, having made 12 appearances since his first call-up in March 2016.

BBC news agency reported that Lindelof completed his medical and personal terms with MU on Wednesday (June 14). However, Lindelof will not join MU until the summer transfer window opens on July 1. Coach Jose Mourinho has also included Lindelof in the list of MU players participating in the tour of the US in July.

Speaking after completing his contract with MU, Lindelof said: "I am very happy to join Manchester United. I had a great time at Benfica and I learned a lot there. But I want to play in the Premier League, especially at Old Trafford and work with coach Jose Mourinho."

With this price of 31 million pounds, Lindelof has surpassed former center-back Rio Ferdinand (29.1 million pounds) to become MU's most expensive defender.
