Madonna and Guy Ritchie fight over child custody

The "Material Girl" singer still wants to win custody of Rocco even though the boy has left his mother to return to England to live with his father.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie divorced in 2008 but still could not agree on child custody. Due to conflicts with his mother, in December 2015, 15-year-old Rocco moved to England to live with his father. On December 23, the court ordered Guy Ritchie to take his son back to New York to settle down in the US. However, Rocco refused to return to his mother.

Madonna and her son Rocco had conflicts that caused the boy to leave home and go to London to live with his father.

On March 2, Judge Deborah Kaplan of the New York Court summoned both Madonna (57 years old) and Guy Ritchie (47 years old) to hear the verdict. Both were not present at the New York court hearing but only spoke by phone.

The judge and lawyers agreed to let Rocco stay in London during this time and attend a school chosen by Madonna and Guy Ritchie.

"In conversations, Rocco has emphasized that he is very stressed about his parents' custody battle," said Rocco's court-appointed attorney. "Rocco is now in school and that is a big step forward. His parents should be commended for making this decision. He loves living there and has had a great learning experience. The school seems to be a great fit for Rocco."

The judge and lawyers have yet to reach a decision on Madonna and Guy Ritchie's custody of Rocco. However, they all agree to try to keep the boy away from the media. The judge also encouraged Madonna and Guy Ritchie to reach an agreement and resolve the custody dispute themselves.

The next court hearing in the custody dispute between Madonna and Guy Ritchie is scheduled for June 1, after lawyers review the facts.

In December 2015, Madonna filed a lawsuit after Rocco went to England for a holiday with his father and refused to return to New York with her. Unable to persuade her son, the famous singer posted many statuses "attacking" her son on social media.
