(Baonghean)For the past few days, continuous rain and cold winds have swept through, but Vi Thi Luan and her children in Kim Tien village, Phuc Son commune (Anh Son district) no longer have to worry about living in a leaky, drafty house. This is because she recently received a "House of Love" donated by the Women's Union at various levels. The Thai ethnic woman shared: "Even in our wildest dreams, my children and I never imagined we would have this house."

In 2008, Ms. Vi Thi Luan married and moved to Cam Son commune. A year later, she gave birth to her first daughter. In 2011, while pregnant with her second child, tragedy struck when her husband died in an accident. Losing the family's breadwinner, Ms. Luan and her children faced immense hardship, their health deteriorated, and they suffered from constant illnesses. In this situation, she and her children had to move to Phuc Son commune, relying on relatives for support. Out of compassion, relatives and villagers contributed labor and materials to build a makeshift thatched house for them. After nearly four years, the temporary house has seriously deteriorated and could collapse at any moment. During stormy nights, the family endures extreme hardship. Especially during the rainy season, water constantly pools inside and out, soaking everything. Their dream of having a sturdy house, free from the worries of rain and wind, remains a distant one. Because it's already difficult to provide enough food for the children every day, let alone a place to live.

"A loving home" of Ms. Vi Thi Luan.

Sharing the difficulties faced by Ms. Vi Thi Luan, the Women's Association of Anh Son District decided to support her family in building a loving home, so that she and her children could have less hardship and confidently move forward in life. They started by persuading Ms. Luan's mother to donate land to her daughter, then proceeded with the procedures to apply for a land use right certificate. Relatives on both sides also joined hands to help Ms. Luan and her children. The association's funds were limited, and none of the relatives were well-off, so the District Women's Association and local authorities appealed to charitable organizations and individuals to support the family. Many organizations and individuals contributed funds to build the loving home, including the Women's Association of the Provincial Police (20 million VND) and the Fatherland Front of Phuc Son Commune (5 million VND). Thanks to this, the loving home for Ms. Luan has now been completed with a total cost of over 64 million VND. The house is built of brick, tiled, tiled, and has a drying yard. The area wasn't large, but it was enough to provide warmth for a poor family, and more importantly, Ms. Luan and her children no longer had to worry during the rainy and stormy season.

During the handover ceremony for the charitable home, Ms. Vi Thi Luan was so moved that she was speechless. It took her several minutes before she finally managed to say, "Thank you to the organizations and individuals with kind hearts who helped my mother and me get this house."
