Malaysia has a record number of Covid-19 infections, South Korea faces the risk of an outbreak
Malaysian authorities recorded more than 9,350 new infections in the past 24 hours, the highest level since the outbreak began in the country.
Channel News Asia cited data from the Malaysian Ministry of Health on July 10, saying that Kuala Lumpur authorities recorded 1,398 positive cases.Covid-19and neighboring Selangor state detected 4,277 more cases.
Malaysian Health Minister Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement the same day that the country also recorded 87 more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from Covid-19 to 6,067.

According to Channel News Asia, Malaysia has had to impose a nationwide lockdown for the third time since June 1. However, the current epidemic situation in this country has many complicated developments due to the prevalence of the Delta variant.
South Korea at risk of outbreak
Reuters news agency cited data from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KDCA) saying that the country recorded 1,378 new Covid-19 infections and two deaths on July 10, bringing the total number of infections and deaths from the epidemic to 166,722 and 2,038.
Reuters reports that the epidemic situation in South Korea is currently less serious than in many other industrialized countries in the world, with the Covid-19 mortality rate at only 1.22% and the total number of severe cases currently at 148. Singapore records no community cases for first time since April
The Strait Times, citing a source from Singapore’s Ministry of Health, said that all six cases recorded on July 10 were imported cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the island nation to 62,684. Of these, three people were found to be infected upon entry, while the remaining cases tested positive for Covid-19 during quarantine.
In another development, Singapore's Ministry of Health announced on July 10 that those who have received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine can receive the second dose after 3 weeks, instead of having to wait 4 weeks as before. However, those who have received the Moderna vaccine must still follow the regulation of the time between the two injections of 4 weeks.
Some other developments about the epidemic
Updated at 5am on July 11 by the global statistics site Worldometers shows that the Covid-19 epidemic is raging in 220 countries and territories, infecting more than 187.2 million people and claiming the lives of more than 4 million patients. The number of recoveries reached over 171.1 million cases.
India continues to experience a terrible day with the number of new infections reaching more than 41,470 and the number of deaths exceeding 900. Thus, up to now, the country has a total of more than 30.8 million positive cases and more than 408,000 deaths.
Brazil also faces serious spread and death when recording 48,500 new infections to the list of more than 19 million patients, and more than 1,100 victims to the total of more than 532,900 people who died from Covid-19.
