Malaysian authorities do not have enough information to arrest four male suspects in the murder of North Korean citizen believed to be Kim Jong-nam.

The Straits Times quoted investigating officer Wan Azirul Nizam’s testimony in court on 25 October – the 10th day of the trial. The four suspects were identified as Chang, Y, James and Hanamori (also known as Mr. or Uncle).

"I only saw the names but no details about them such as passport numbers or phone numbers. So far, the police have only given tips and asked Interpol, Malaysia's special agency, to help track the missing suspects," Wan Azirul told the court.

Previously, this investigator had testified in court that James had "recruited" Siti and Y was the character appearing on security cameras with Doan Thi Huong at the airport, and he was also the one who poured VX poison on Huong's hands. Meanwhile, Hanamori gave Y instructions and Chang, the man who appeared with Siti at a cafe in the airport, was the one who gave the female suspect VX poison.

It is not yet clear whether these four male suspects will be charged with the same crimes as Doan Thi Huong and Siti, because the prosecution has not provided any information and only said that the four suspects have not been arrested yet.

Chief Prosecutor Iskandar Ahmad told reporters that he would release more information about the four suspects today (October 26) through security camera footage.

In February, Malaysian police released photos and other information about four North Koreans believed to be the masterminds behind the murder of North Korean citizen Kim Chol, believed to be Kim Jong Nam, the older brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. They are Ri Ji Hyon, Hong Song Hac, O Joong Gil, and Ri Jae Nam.
