Malaysia to hand over Kim Jong-nam's body to North Korea

Malaysia will hand over the body of Kim Jong-nam to Pyongyang at the request of the North Korean government, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamid told reporters on Thursday (February 16).

Mr. Kim Jong-nam is the brother of current North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

According to Mr. Hamid, Pyongyang has sent a related request to Malaysia, but must first wait for some procedures to be completed.

"We will support requests from any foreign government, but certain procedures must be followed first. Our policy is to respect bilateral relations with any foreign country," Hamid said.
