Man City could be banned from the Champions League
Bad news for Manchester City just days after Pep Guardiola's team won the 2018/19 Premier League title.
According to the New York Times, an investigation board is about to propose that UEFA ban Man City from participating in the Champions League for one season for violating the Financial Fair Play (FFP) Law.
The investigation is into Man City's sponsorship money coming from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the club's owners, the Abu Dhabi United Group, have a lot of power.
Financial Fair Play rules prohibit clubs from accepting sponsorship from entities linked to their owners. And Man City are breaking this rule.

The reason for the poor performance of the players was that Muangthong fell to the bottom of the Thai-League rankings. They even called on the team's coaching staff not to call up the team's players for fear of affecting the national image.
Muangthong Utd Club has 6 national players: center back Adisorn Promrak, midfielder Sarach Yooyen, Sanukran Thinjom, Charyl Chappuis, striker Teerasil Dangda, Adisak Kraisorn. Notably, veteran striker Dangda was very excited to wear the Thai shirt for the 100th time in his football career on the day of the King's Cup draw against the Vietnamese team. Dangda promised to do his best to win the King's Cup with his teammates as a gift for the king, but now his wish may not come true.

Coach Park Hang-seo seems to be more relaxed with some familiar players suddenly playing outstandingly in round 9 of the V-League. Midfielder Tuan Anh is gradually recovering his form, Van Thanh scored with his first touch of the ball after half a year of injury, and Van Toan was the best player in the 3-0 win over Viettel.
Other players such as Minh Vuong, Viet Hung, Hong Duy, and A Hoang all had a good 90 minutes. More notably, Xuan Truong scored a beautiful free kick to help Buriram win in the Thai-League, and Cong Phuong just got a place back in the starting lineup in the K-League.
When gathering the national team for the King's Cup, Mr. Park Hang-seo will still keep many old faces such as Que Ngoc Hai, Trong Hoang, central defender Bui Tien Dung, Dinh Trong, Duy Manh...
